Build Solidarity

Show up for other groups if you want them to show up for you.

The American labor movement has built much of its success on the idea of solidarity: showing up for other groups and causes, even if they don’t immediately benefit you. Even if you don't care about the same issues in the short-term, in the long-term you find common ground.

The civil rights movement also understood the importance of solidarity. Even the American conservative movement has advanced its agenda through solidarity between religious and corporate supporters.
